Star Wars
No, I did not take my son to a Star Wars convention. I took him to the RBC Center where they had a very nice 2 hour event that contained a live symphony orchestra playing all the Star Wars music, and then a big screen behind the orchestra showing clips from the movies. Prior to the show, Andrew enjoyed meeting some of his favorite characters, including Bubba Fett, pictured here. Andrew really enjoyed it, although he didn't get to meet his favorite character, Darth Vader.

We had a very nice, albeit brief, visit to Elkin over the weekend. Hesta and I went to the Yadkin Valley Wine Festival for a couple hours, then grilled out on the farm. The kids hung out with Papa Keith and Nana Kay while Hesta and I enjoyed the Wine Festival with Oma. On Sunday, we made a quick trip up to Stone Mountain, still love that place. Here are some great pictures from the Stone Mountain stop. Sunday afternoon, Hesta and I got to take our first Sunday afternoon nap in a long time, that was very nice!

Beach Weekend. We had a good time at Wrightsville Beach. Robbie had a great weekend against Towson, he hit a 3-run homer and a 3-run double on Sunday, to finish with 6 RBIs. They won on Saturday and Sunday. The kids had fun. Emma Kate loves the ceramic dog next door. Andrew got to experience go cart racing with Dada for the first time. I broke 80 for the first time on Friday at Myrtle Beach, and shot a 79. I was very pleased, although I did accidentally throw the bag of dirty laundry down the garbage chute on Sunday morning. All in all, Hesta had a really fun time at the beach with her 3 kids.

We are headed back to the beach this coming weekend then headed to St Simon with Aunt D, Uncle Gray and family

Thanksgiving in Elkin, 2009

   We had a nice visit with all of Kirk's family in Elkin this Thanksgiving. Thanks to everyone for the great food and company! Emma Kate will be 18 months tomorrow, so looking forward to her checkup on Friday. Andrew and Emma Kate are really having fun playing together, which is just wonderful to watch!

Update

Once again, thanks to Suzanne Dillon for getting on me about my posts.  It is just too easy to forget to post here when I do it on FB so often and easily.  We have had a good Fall thus far. Halloween was a blast(Andrew was Lightning Mcqueen and Emma Kate wore the same ladybug outfit as last year).  I also had a great birthday weekend celebrating with Kirk Friday night and then again with family on my birthday.  Here are a few pics from our trip to HHI(September) and Halloween, birthday, etc.

Andrew got to go to Target today to buy his first toy with his money from his "manners jar."  Hopefully now that he sees what his money can buy, he will continue using good manners, listening, and staying upstairs until 7am every morning!  He really wants something that is $22, so we will see if he can get that at some point.  Of course I tried to have the conversation of saving money but he didn't understand that yet.

Emma Kate is all over the place..her favorite is to stand on the dinner table.  She has a few words, "bump" being her first, along with ball, Mama, Dada, and now Andrew is teaching her how to say candy.  

New Hobby

So my big news is that I got my early Birthday/Christmas present...a new camera! I am completely obsessed with it! I have taken over 1000 pictures in just about 5 days.  I will be putting some of my favorites from the last week in an album hopefully tonight or tomorrow, so check back for more later.  Here are just a couple of some of my favorites!

Last Days of Summer

We are looking forward to school starting after Labor Day and then our family trip to Hilton Head!

Colette's Baptism

We had a great time in Atlanta with my brother's family.  Andrew was in in Heaven with all the toys Jake and Charlie have.  My niece and Goddaughter is just beautiful and such an awesome baby!!!
